Martinez Named National Player of the Week

New Haven, Conn. – The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Football Bowl Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for games ending October 23.

TAYLOR MARTINEZ, NEBRASKA

Redshirt freshman quarterback Taylor Martinez accounted for 435 yards of total offense as 14th-ranked Nebraska defeated 17th-ranked Oklahoma State, 51-41. Martinez, who become the first Husker to pass for 300 yards and rush for 100 in a single game, threw five touchdown passes as Nebraska improved to 6-2, 2-1 in the Big 12. Martinez completed 23-of-35 passes for 323 yards and rushed for 112 yards on 19 carries.
