Huskers-Horns to be Televised on ABC @ 2:30

Lincoln - The Big 12 Conference and ABC/ESPN has announced that Nebraska's Oct. 16 game with Texas will be televised nationally on ABC, with kickoff for the contest set for 2:30 p.m. CDT.

The ABC coverage areas for the game will be determined next week. However, fans in most markets not receiving the contest on their local ABC affiliate will receive the game on ESPN-HD.

The Nebraska-Texas meeting will be the 10th between the two schools since the start of the Big 12 Conference in 1996, including three Big 12 title games. Of those 10 games, nine have been televised by ABC, with the lone exception the 2002 game in Lincoln. Six of the previous nine meetings between the teams have been decided by four or fewer points.

In addition to the Texas contest, Nebraska's Nov. 26 regular-season finale with Colorado will be televised to a national audience on ABC, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. Game times and television information for Nebraska's other remaining games will be announced six to 12 days in advance.

Other Big 12 games set for telecast on the week of Oct. 16 include: Kansas State at Kansas (Thursday, Oct. 14, 6:30 p.m., FSN), Missouri at Texas A&M (Oct. 16, FSN, 11 a.m.) and Iowa State at Oklahoma (6 p.m., FSN).
